{"id":636,"date":"2023-09-04T11:01:55","date_gmt":"2023-09-04T11:01:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ticketingbusinessasia.com\/?p=636"},"modified":"2023-09-04T14:24:48","modified_gmt":"2023-09-04T14:24:48","slug":"eventim-live-asia-is-just-getting-started","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ticketingbusinessasia.com\/eventim-live-asia-is-just-getting-started\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Eventim Live Asia is just getting started&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cWe launched ELA in the depths of COVID, so I am incredibly proud of what our team has accomplished in such a short period of time,\u201d Miller told <i>TheTicketingBusiness<\/i>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe goal was always to bring the best acts of the West to the East, and the best acts of the East to the West. \u00a0Along with our local co-promoters, we have produced dozens of shows across numerous Asian and Middle Eastern markets, and have also brought some fantastic Asian talent to both North and South America.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEventim Live Asia is just getting started.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>A major opportunity<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Miller noted that Asia is an important market, and that agents and managers should not think about it as an afterthought to a large tour.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a massive opportunity to build and cement an artist\u2019s career, with passionate new fans,\u201d he commented.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSixty percent of the world\u2019s population is in Asia. How can any artist who is serious about their career, and their future, not make Asia a priority?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Asia\u2019s return to live music took slightly longer than it did in Western countries, with Singapore only allowing audiences to attend concerts at music venues in March last year, for example. It was even later in Hong Kong, where restrictions were eased as late as October 2022.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe pandemic has grown unprecedented global demand for live music and shared experience,\u201d said Miller.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are seeing this across all the key Asian markets, even though some countries in Asia started later than other regions of the world. Nevertheless,\u00a0ELA is uniquely positioned to take advantage of that tremendous growth today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Gaining momentum<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Eventim\u2019s ambition in Asia is reflected in its success globally, with the company announcing it had hit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/2023\/08\/24\/cts-eventims-half-yearly-report-shows-strong-demand-for-live-entertainment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u20ac1bn<\/a> (\u00a3900m\/$1.1bn) revenue mark in its half-yearly revenue report compared to this time last year.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>At the time, chief executive Klaus-Peter Schulenberg said: \u201cThe breadth and depth of our portfolio and the successful internationalisation of our business are the key drivers of our strong and stable growth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/2023\/08\/03\/cts-eventim-acquires-further-17-of-shares-in-france-billet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Last month<\/a>, CTS Eventim announced that it had exercised its call option to acquire a further 17% of France Billet\u2019s share capital, upping its hold to a majority 65%.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>And in July, the entertainment and live music ticketing firm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/2023\/07\/17\/cts-eventim-expands-into-switzerland-with-new-company\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">launched<\/a> a new concert promoter and artist booking company in Switzerland.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Miller commented: \u201cEventim is legitimately a visionary company, and it\u2019s on a roll. Take a look at their growth over the last 10 years. Nearly tripled revenue, and literally doubled it in just the four years leading up to COVID.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019ve done that with a unique combination of organic growth, as well as by partnering with or acquiring the best executive talent, and companies, in a string of new markets. Eventim is as much a global touring company as anyone in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Looking forward, Miller noted that experience and strong relationships will be the key to pushing ELA to the top of its game and attracting international talent.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSucceeding in Asia requires experience and relationships.
